SJ visited Korea in fall, 2012. J and A went to SF to meet SJ, but she extended her trip. We missed our return flight due to Hurricane Sandy on East Coast. The extra night that we stayed near S.F. airport the Giants won last game of the World Series. (They also won in 2010.)
September: A went to C 2 A in Kansas City.
Summer, 2012:
*S and J again did man-time/girl-time program at NLC and had a blast.
*Local Events: Waldo Canyon Fire, which ended up being the worst disaster in Colorado's history. Many acres of wilderness just west of the city, and over 300 homes were burned. (Black Forest Fire also in Colorado Springs Area happened the next year, and exceeded the Waldo Canyon disaster.)
* A participated in annual YWAM Emerge/Affirm Global event, which included a golf tournament at the Broadmoor.
*July: family reunion in Colorado.
Spring was our 4th year to participate in the Thorn (passion play). A played role of Moses' brother Aaron in a brief scene near the beginning. (Prior year played brief scene as one of two slaves, carrying a rock down aisle to center stage.) In 2012 the Thorn performances were at the World Arena.
J played basketball year-round from late Fall of 2011 right up through the Summer of 2012 with the V.R. Junior Wolves, in SOCO (Southern Col. League), and Gold-Crown. During the first week of fall break in October, he made it onto his school's 8th grade team, and he also played with another team, SMASH, that started a series of games at Hillside Community Center.
SE enjoyed several weeks staying at the Geigers while SJ was in Korea.
